Pardon our Christmas excitement, but tis the season, and that means all of us here in the Toronto, Ontario region are about to get the usual torrents of snowfall. Those of us at Bay Auto Zone would like to remind everyone out there to winterize your car, because there is nothing worse than not being prepared in the case of inclement weather.
For everyone in Toronto who has purchased a vehicle from our extensive inventory of used cars, whether that be an Audi, BMW, Porsche or Lexus, here are a few tips to keep you safe this winter season.
- Proper Prep with an Emergency Kit: Almost every car has a spare tire in the case of a flat, but it is also important to keep a few more supplies handy. Windshield washer fluid, extra oil and coolant can also get you out of a jam, as well as a sturdy ice scraper and flares (because most of us do not have a red nosed reindeer).
- Check One, Two, Three: For those out there with vehicles that can engage four-wheel drive, it is important to check the system before you drive off into the winter wonderland. Also, checking the battery, oil levels, defrosting/heating systems and windshield wipers will help you stay safe.
- Stay Full: We know you will be staying full with holiday food, but it is also important to keep your fuel tank, antifreeze and windshield wiper fluid full as well.
- Under Pressure: To keep from sliding across ice like an opposing hockey player who took a huge hit from Maple Leafs Captain Dion Phaneuf, make sure you have the proper winter tires, with the appropriate air pressure for maximum traction.
If you have any more questions regarding winter driving come by Bay Auto Zone and we will be more than happy to help. If you need assistance in winterizing your ride the professionals in our service centre can set you up so Jack Frost won't interfere with winter travels.
